Projects for groups

Our goal is for you to get to know the museum grounds with around 79 historic buildings from the Rhineland.
You will find out what everyday life in the Rhineland was like over the past 500 years. You move through the assemblies, meet people and animals and get an impression of living and working, but also of the living conditions in the region.
The projects take place in German.

Projects for groups with children and young people (The projects take place in German)
Approx. 3 hours Max. 18 people The system and benefits of the meadow orchard (underuse, fruit growing, care, diversity of species) are explained. The children harvest apples and process them into delicious apple juice as they used to.

Approx. 3 hours Kindergarten: max. 20 people; 1st school year: max. 25 people The children get to know the animals, trees and plants of the meadow in a playful way.

Crispy and hearty: Bake stone oven bread
Approx. 3 hours Max. 18 people Children learn how to find wild herbs, identify them, and turn them into a tasty meal.
Herb and weed: a meal of wild herbs
Approx. 3 hours Max. 15 people With the museum farmer's wife, the children prepare a simple everyday meal based on old recipes and produce kitchen or play equipment.
From the Garden: Cooking an Everyday Meal
Approx.3 hours Max. 28 people In an old barn, the children try out working techniques such as threshing with a flail, cleaning grain with a pan and sweeping grain, and trying their own milling methods.
After the harvest: from grain to flour
