Our goal is for children and young people to get to know the museum grounds with around 79 historic buildings from the Rhineland. In our offers you can find out what everyday life in the Rhineland was like over the past 500 years. In our inclusive and action-oriented projects, we rely on our own actions and discoveries through participation. Through encounters with people and animals in the five museum building groups, the children get an impression of living and working, but also of the life of their "little ancestors".

Approx. 3 hours Max. 18 people The system and benefits of the meadow orchard (underuse, fruit growing, care, diversity of species) are explained. The children harvest apples and process them into delicious apple juice as they used to.

Approx. 3 hours Max. 15 people With the museum farmer's wife, the children prepare a simple everyday meal based on old recipes and produce kitchen or play equipment.
From the Garden: Cooking an Everyday Meal
Approx.3 hours Max. 28 people In an old barn, the children try out working techniques such as threshing with a flail, cleaning grain with a pan and sweeping grain, and trying their own milling methods.
