The open-air museum is a museum about people. Her life and work in the past is the focus. The people in the museum - farmer's wife Anna Ippendorf, nun Clara Fey or the Avon consultant Margret Schmidt and many more show you their traditional work and explain their historical background.
The farmer's wife works in the house and in the garden and goes about her housewifely activities as they were common in pre-industrial times. You can find Anna Ippendorf in the house from Kessenich or in the adjoining garden in the "Eifel/Eifel-Vorland" building group.

Sybilla Schmitz actually lives in Bonn in a very spacious, well-equipped house. Today she is visiting her family in the country. You will find the fine lady in Ruppenrod in the Westerwald building group.

Peter Lenz comes to Euskirchen after his imprisonment in the Second World War and makes a living as a mine clearer. You will find the war returnee in the Nissenhütte on the "Rheinland Market Square".

Carl-Otto Poensgen was born on February 22, 1916 in Mechernich. He worked at the Deutsche Reichspost and after the end of the war at the Deutsche Post. In 1969 he became mayor of the Rhineland market square. Here you will find him in the Kahlenbusch bungalow or in the Watteler restaurant.
