Children turn a millstone

After the harvest: from grain to flour

In an old barn, the children try out working techniques such as threshing with a flail, cleaning grain with a pan and sweeping grain, and even trying their own grinding.
The project manager explains and explores an old farm with the children. The individual buildings are assigned to their functions. The focus is on the barn as a storage room for straw and hay, a workroom for threshing and forage production. The project manager explains the division of labor and the harvesting process earlier. The group is then divided. Group 1 explores the Cap Windmill from Cantrup with the "After the Harvest" voyage of discovery. Grinding attempts with the stones brought along are undertaken. Group 2 carries out the post-harvest work in the barn.
