Advent for all the senses
November 30th and December 1st, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m
The "Advent for all the senses" wants to bring relaxation and also make you think a bit. It lets you immerse yourself in earlier times and wants to convey how farming families used to prepare for Christmas. In addition to a small Advent market in and in front of the dance hall from Pingsdorf with toys, stationery, glass art, patchwork and much more, there are also great pre-Christmas activities throughout the museum grounds. Christmas music sounds in the rooms of the museum houses, a choir performs in the Westerwald building group and lots of hands-on activities await you. Broom makers, blacksmiths, weavers, turners, stonemasons and many others show their traditional skills. Housekeepers provide the classic Advent scents such as baked apples, roasted almonds and eggnog from the museum ovens.
